About RBS Dynamic

Built by Builders. For Builders.

RBS Dynamic was founded on a simple observation: the construction industry is full of great technology that nobody uses. We exist to close that gap.

Our Story

The Trash Can Moment

Early in our team’s career, one of our founders watched a superintendent take a binder full of clash reports — technically excellent work that had taken weeks to produce — and throw it straight in the trash. The report was built for a compliance file, not for his crew. It was useless to the people who actually needed it.

That moment became a shared doctrine: if the field isn’t using it, it failed. It doesn’t matter how technically perfect a model is. If the foreman can’t use it to answer a question in 30 seconds, it hasn’t done its job.

Our founding team includes experience building and selling two BIM companies — including one acquired by Trimble — and 7.5 years consulting on enterprise construction accounts at Autodesk. But that trash can moment never left us. In 2026, we founded RBS Dynamic to build the company we wish we could have hired on our own projects — one that delivers work the field actually uses.

Where We Come From

Two Stories That Define Us

The Trash Can

On a major project, the team delivered a full coordination package — technically excellent work. The superintendent took the binder, glanced at it, and threw it in the trash.

Not because the work was bad. Because it was useless to him. The deliverables were built for a compliance file, not for the crew.

That moment became doctrine: if the field is not using it, it failed.

The 40-Year Plumber

On a different project, a mechanical foreman — forty years in the trade, never touched a computer — was shown how to navigate the coordination model on a tablet.

Within a week he was pulling it up independently. Within a month he was the biggest advocate on the job site. He did not become a BIM expert. He became someone who could see what he was building before he built it.

That is the brand at its best: capability uplift that sticks.

What We Stand For

Our Core Doctrines

Field Adoption First

If the field isn't using it, it failed. Every deliverable we create is designed for the people who build — not the people who file.

Capability Uplift

Every engagement must elevate the client's capability. We leave you more capable than we found you — that's the promise.

Measurable Outcomes

We don't sell hours. We sell results. Fewer RFIs, less rework, faster coordination cycles, and models you can build from.

Vendor Agnostic

Our loyalty is to your outcome, not a software brand. We recommend the right tool for the job, regardless of who makes it.

Ryan Cook, General Manager & Co-Founder at RBS Dynamic

Ryan Cook

General Manager & Co-Founder

Thirty years in construction, starting in the field: superintendent, project manager, and CAD/BIM manager before 7.5 years at Autodesk as an enterprise technology consultant serving major construction accounts.

Ryan has led MEP BIM coordination on some of Utah's most demanding commercial work, including mission-critical data centers, semiconductor fabs, and dense multi-trade coordination on major commercial builds. His background also spans residential, where he has personally built 140 homes as a superintendent and project manager. He holds formal training in organizational change management, which is why our technology work sticks in the field instead of dying in a training binder.

Ben May

Co-Founder & Strategic Advisor

Ben built and sold May Construction Services, a BIM services firm acquired by Trimble, then founded a second BIM services company that was also acquired. He has invested in three construction technology companies that each went on to acquisition: ClearEdge3D (Topcon), TriBuild (McCormick Systems), and MSUITE (Stanley Black & Decker).

His project history includes some of the most significant builds in Utah, including City Creek Center and mission-critical data center work. At RBS Dynamic, Ben guides strategy with the perspective of someone who has built this exact kind of firm twice before.

Why We Are Different

The Bilingual Advantage

Most BIM firms understand software. Most contractors understand jobsites. Very few understand both fluently. That combination is our unfair advantage -- and it is why field teams trust our deliverables.

Our leadership brings 30+ years across design, construction, and BIM -- as superintendents, project managers, BIM consultants, and senior consulting at Autodesk. We have built and sold BIM firms, including one acquired by Trimble. We have stood in framed walls of houses we drew, and we have shipped fabrication-ready models for some of the most complex data center, healthcare, and semiconductor builds in the country.

Data centers are where this matters most. National-scale data center BIM is unforgiving -- N+1 and 2N+1 redundancy, dense MEP routing, mission-critical schedule pressure. We have delivered coordination on the projects that cannot tolerate field rework, and we bring that same standard to every job.

Why We Exist

Built to Close the Gap

RBS Dynamic was founded by construction technology practitioners with over 20 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, VDC leadership, and field technology adoption. We built this firm because we saw the same gap on every project -- sophisticated technology that never made it to the field. RBS Dynamic exists to close that gap.
